This article improves the methodology for preparing future chemistry teachers for international assessment studies. Within the framework of TIMSS, the content of graphic tasks for the development of natural science literacy was introduced at an individual level of complexity. The methodological system was aimed at the formation of natural science literacy competencies (knowledge, application, reasoning). Also, methods for developing scientific competence and optimizing creative tasks based on graphic design were developed.
