ESTABLISHMENT OF ANTHROPOGENIC WATER BODIES AND ALTERATION OF INVASIVE SPECIES RANGES IN THE KASHKADARYA BASIN

Authors

This article highlights that the establishment of artificial water bodies in the Kashkadarya basin has led to the expansion of the
range of invasive species. Along with the introduction of Chinese carps into the Chimkurgan Reservoir, bivalve mollusks
(Unionidae, Euglesidae, Pisididae, Corbiculidae) have also spread and occupied new biotopes. In the region, species such as
Sinanodonta gibba, S. orbicularis, Colletopterum ponderosum volgense, and Corbicula fluminalis have been recorded. The results
demonstrate that anthropogenic factors have a significant impact on the species diversity of aquatic ecosystems.
