Certain issues related to engineering-geological surveys (EGS) in urban areas should be analyzed both from the perspective of engineering-geological conditions and from the perspective of the degree of urban development with buildings and structures.
This paper analyzes and summarizes existing literature and sources that address engineering geology issues in relation to the degree of urban development with buildings and structures.
Built-up and undeveloped areas can be roughly distinguished. The first type includes "residential areas," i.e., areas where more than 5% of the area is occupied by buildings with a density of over 0.5 thousand m²/ha [1].
