DISTRIBUTION AND ECOLOGY OF TERRESTRIAL PULMONATE MOLLUSK FAUNA IN AGRO-LANDSCAPES OF MIYONKOL ISLAND

Miyonkol Island, agro-landscape, faunistic and taxonomic composition of terrestrial mollusks, harmful species, control measures.

Authors

For the first time, the faunistic composition and taxonomy of terrestrial gastropods distributed in the agro-landscapes of Miyonkol
Island have been identified. They include 24 species belonging to 12 genera and 9 families. Among them, slugs rank first in terms
of species diversity (14 species), including adventive synanthropic species that are agricultural pests – Deroceras caucasicum, D.
reticulatum, and four species of the genus Candaharia: C. levanderi, C. rosenii, C. kaznakovi, and C. rutellum. Biological groups
of mollusks have been distinguished, and methods of controlling them against agricultural crops are presented.
