This article analyzes the political, administrative and cultural significance of the status of the “Crown City” in the history of Uzbek statehood in the XVI-XVII centuries. The study highlights the role of cities in state administration, their function in the processes of centralization and their role in strengthening the legitimacy of rule. Also, the role of Bukhara and other political centers in the status of the “crown city”, their influence on socio-economic and ideological processes is analyzed on a scientific and theoretical basis.
