Authors

This scholarly article is dedicated to the theoretical and historical analysis of the genre of literary conversation. The research aims
to define the complex typology, historical evolution, and functional role of the literary conversation genre within the contemporary
system of literary criticism. Using comparative-historical, typological, and functional analysis methods, four main types of literary
conversation were identified: didactic, polemical, biographical, and theoretical. The results indicate that the genre has undergone
three main evolutionary stages, progressing from ancient philosophical dialectics to modern journalism and literary critique.
Furthermore, scholarly views on the classification of genres based on literary dialogue, the functional tasks of critical conversation,
and their exemplary manifestations have been synthesized within literary studies.
