ETHNOGRAPHY OF SPEECH – AS A MEANS OF ANALYZING THE RELATIONS OF LANGUAGE, CULTURE AND SOCIETY
Downloads
Ethnography of speech interprets human speech behavior as a systemic phenomenon within the holistic context of national culture.
Language units and speech practices are formed not in isolation, but in close connection with the general values of society, its
traditions, and social norms. The article analyzes how representatives of English-speaking cultures use the concepts of “Time” and
“Money” not merely as linguistic units, but as symbols reflecting the worldview and values of society.
