THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIOPRAGMATICS IN MODERN LINGUISTICS

In modern linguistics, sociopragmatics is one of the important areas that studies the relationship between language and socio-
cultural context. This approach helps to analyze not only grammatical, but also pragmatic functions of language, that is, it is a tool
that reveals the social functions of speech and its effectiveness in communication. Sociopragmatics studies the adaptation of
language tools to social norms, cultural values, and communication situations, and also allows us to identify speech differences
between different social groups, gender, and age categories. Research results show that sociopragmatic knowledge increases the
effectiveness of speech communication, prevents misinterpretations and misunderstandings. Therefore, the role of sociopragmatics
in practical and theoretical areas of linguistics is increasing today and is becoming one of the important methodological foundations
of linguistics.
