This article analyzes the concept of time in the ontological views of the German philosopher Martin Heidegger. The main goal of the study is to reveal through the prism of time modalities the contradiction between the two different ways of thinking that define human existence - "calculation" (Rechnen) and "understanding" (Verstechen). The article provides a scientifically grounded explanation of how the technical worldview (Gestell) confines time only to the "present tense" and conversely, how existential understanding unifies time horizons (past, present, and future).
