This article examines the history of Nestorian Christians in China, particularly their presence during the Tang (635–845) and
Yuan (13th–14th centuries) dynasties. Marco Polo’s travel account provides detailed information about Nestorian communities
living in commercial cities along the Silk Road, including those in northwestern and southeastern China (such as Kashgar,
Ganzhou, Beijing, and Hangzhou). Archaeological findings also confirm these reports. The article additionally discusses the 300-
year gap between the two periods and provides information on other Christian denominations (Jacobites and Melkites).
