This article analyzes theoretical approaches to assessing the effectiveness of parliamentary activity in the context of democratic transformations, using the Republic of Uzbekistan as an example. It examines the methodological foundations for assessing the effectiveness of parliaments, key indicators of the productivity of legislative, representative, and oversight functions, and the specifics of transformation processes in Uzbekistan. Particular attention is paid to the role of parliament in strengthening democratic institutions, guaranteeing citizens' rights and freedoms, and mechanisms for interaction with the executive branch and civil society.
