NUMBERS IN LINGUISTICS

This article examines the history of the development of modern numerals. The main stages in the evolution of arithmetic are
systematized. The paper presents, in an engaging and accessible manner, how representatives of ancient civilizations performed
calculations in different historical periods. Based on this study, one can trace not only the development of numerals but also the
stages in the formation of mathematics, its concepts, and theorems. The history of numbers is closely connected with the general
history of humanity, as numerals constitute an integral part of our past, present, and future
