The article examines the socio-philosophical essence of the phenomenon of fear based on the views of Aristotle and Al-Farabi, as well as modern theoretical approaches. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of fear across historical periods, including the primitive era, ancient civilizations, the Middle Ages, the modern era, the twentieth century, and the twenty-first century. The study also addresses fear in totalitarian societies, political fear, repression as a form of historical trauma, as well as issues of conformism and censorship. Furthermore, the article analyzes the impact of information pressure and contemporary fears associated with the Internet and social networks on youth consciousness, anxiety, and uncertainty. The positive and negative functions of fear are explored from various perspectives and historical phases based on the views of prominent scholars.
