THE FATE OF THE GOLDEN TREASURY OF THE EMIRATE OF BUKHARA

This article analyzes, on the basis of historical sources and archival documents, the origins of the Emirate’s gold reserves, the
structure of the treasury, its economic and political significance, as well as the subsequent fate of the gold in the context of the
events of 1920. It also examines, through a scholarly approach, the differences between the legends that emerged around the gold
reserves and historical reality
