The article examines the development of regional periodical press in the Fergana Valley during the post-war period. It analyzes
the restoration and expansion of the newspaper and magazine network after World War II and highlights the role of regional,
city, and district newspapers in the socio-political and cultural life of the region. Special attention is paid to the newspaper
Znamya Truda as one of the oldest Russian-language periodicals in Uzbekistan, as well as to the formation and activities of the
workers’ and rural correspondents’ movement. The study also explores structural transformations of local press under
administrative-territorial reforms, the influence of party-state policy on the organization and content of publications, and the
professional development of journalistic personnel in the 1950s–1980s.
