The article examines modern approaches to teaching fiction in higher education in the context of a digital educational
environment. Special attention is paid to the formation of interpretive competence and the development of students’ critical
thinking as key components of literary education. The theoretical framework is based on hermeneutic, dialogic and constructivist
approaches. The study also analyzes the impact of digital technologies on literary education. Examples from classical literature
are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of interpretative and interactive teaching methods. The article concludes that the
integration of traditional and digital teaching methods enhances students’ analytical abilities and engagement in the learning
process.
