Authors

This article analyzes the clientele of the Tashkent branch of the Russo-Asiatic Bank in the early 20th century. Archival materials are used to examine the social and economic composition of borrowers, the nature of their business activities, and the characteristics of the bank's lending operations in the colonial economy of the Turkestan Governorate-General. Sources indicate that the branch's clients were primarily small and medium-sized traders, shopkeepers, and intermediaries actively involved in Tashkent's bazaar trade.
