This article provides a comparative-typological analysis of the theoretical foundations and categorical criteria used for classifying word classes in German and Uzbek. The study reveals that in both languages, the classification process is implemented through "mixed systems" (Mischsysteme) based on the integration of semantic, morphological, and syntactic features. It is established that while morphological and syntactic hierarchies play a central role in German, the Uzbek language prioritizes the "unique" nature of lexical units and a multi-layered semantic analysis approach.
