“ONIM” TERMINI TA’RIFIGA TURLI YONDASHUVLAR
This article examines various approaches to defining the key onomastic term «onym» in the history of linguistics. Seven principal approaches are identified and analysed: philosophical (J.S. Mill), logical (G. Frege), grammatical (A.A. Reformatsky), referential (A.V. Superanskaya), lexicographic (N.V. Podolskaya), communicative (V. Blanár), and terminological (S.V. Grinev-Grinevich). A comparative table is provided for each approach. It is demonstrated that a comprehensive definition of the onym must integrate referential, lexicographic and communicative dimensions. The findings are relevant to the ongoing normalisation of onomastic terminology in Uzbek linguistics.
