This article is devoted to the theoretical and methodological foundations of studying China–Middle East relations in the context of contemporary global politics. It examines key Chinese concepts of international relations, such as the “community of shared future” and partnership diplomacy, as well as their application to the Middle East. Based on a literature analysis, the main approaches are identified, including neorealism, constructivism, and Chinese national schools (moral realism and relational theory). The study concludes that China’s strategy in the region is pragmatic and non-coercive in nature.
