The article analyzes the mechanical composition of developed and undeveloped loamy gray soils in the northern part of the
Turkestan Range. The mechanical composition of the soil is an agrophysical indicator that does not change in the long term. It
expresses the entire period of the process of soil formation and all the features and processes of the soil. As a result of research in
the Zaamin district of the Jizzakh region, it is known that typical gray soils differ in their mechanical composition, that is, in the
amount of physical clay. The amount of physical clay in the soil layers was 31.0-77.9% in section 1-22, 39.0-57.2% in section 2-
22, coarse dust 21.5-39.8% in section 1-22 , in section 2-22 it was 34.2-51.7%.
