In this article, using the example of the Arslan field located in the eastern part of the Sudochi deflection of the Ustyurt oil and gas
region, considered a new approach to the allocation of productive layers based on a lithologically shielded type of deposit.
As a result of the analysis of the Arslan field, there was revealed paleochannel and coastline, which are not limited by the deposit
and presumably extend from the southeast to the northwest. On the bed of this ancient river, presumably located deposits such as
Kuyi Surgil, Arslan, Inam and Kuyi Sharkyi Berdakh.
When planning drilling production wells in these fields, it is necessary to consider the paleochannel direction and coastline with
low reservoir properties, that is allocated by GIS curves in already drilled wells.
