TRENDS OF AGRICULTURAL LAND REDUCTION IN PERI-URBAN AREAS (THE CASE OF SAMARKAND CITY)
This article examines the development of agriculture in the peri-urban areas of Samarkand city and its impact on food security
during the period 2000–2024. It also highlights, based on statistical analysis, the imbalance between the demographic growth driven
by the city's rapid urbanization and the decline of irrigated agricultural land.
