The article describes the reforms being implemented in the field of tourism in Uzbekistan, the role of tourism in improving the
standard of living and employment of the population, and the recreational opportunities of some geographical objects. The role of
tourism in the gross domestic product of some countries was also examined. Some recommendations for the development of tourism
in Uzbekistan are given.
