The work examines the potential of oil and gas fields in the Bukhara-Khiva region of Uzbekistan as a source of critical elements.
A brief overview of international approaches to assessing industrial groundwater resources is presented. Hydrogeochemical studies
of Upper Jurassic collectors have shown high mineralization of formation waters and elevated concentrations of lithium, bromine,
iodine, and other trace elements exceeding industrial threshold values. Significant spatial and temporal variability in their content
has been identified, necessitating long-term monitoring. Layer waters are considered a promising hydromineral resource for
extracting critical elements and increasing the economic efficiency of developing oil and gas fields in the late stage of exploitation.
