The article presents a methodology for monitoring and forecasting the ecological condition of South Fergana landscapes based on
geographic information system (GIS) technologies. The study compiled a long-term statistical database on relief, soils, groundwater
depth and mineralization, soil salinization, land productivity (bonitet), and crop yields, and applied GIS technologies, geostatistical
interpolation, and trend analysis methods. Based on the results obtained, probable development scenarios for salinization and
degradation processes were forecast for the periods up to 2030 and 2035.
