SYNTHESIS OF A NEW MENTHOL DERIVATIVE WITH 1,2-BENZENEDICARBOXYLIC ACID MONOPOTASIUM SALT
Menthol exhibits secondary alcoholic properties, at the next stage of research, based on the literature, new derivatives of menthol
were synthesized with a monokalium salt of benzene dicarboxylic acid. Knowing the chemical properties of the starting
substances, the synthesis of a new menthol derivative with a monokalium salt of benzene dicarboxylic acid was carried out.
Menthol (2-isopropyl-5-methylcyclohexanol) was synthesized in a 1:1 ratio with a monokalium salt of 1,2 benzenedicarboxylic
acid, a new derivative in the presence of a catalyst (H 2 SO 4 ).
