The article examines the problems of efficient use of land resources of the catchment basins in the irrigated areas of the current Amudarya delta. In the current delta of the Amudarya, there are several catchment basins, which differ from each other in terms of the quality of land resources. Our research shows that the upper part of the catchment basins is dominated by weakly saline soils, while the lower part is strongly saline. That is why soil salinity plays a special role in efficient use of land resources. This, in turn, creates a basis for the study of catchment basins as an integrated geosystem.
