In recent years, the increase of endocrine diseases among the population is one of the serious problems of the world medicine. In this regard, one of the urgent problems of endocrinology is the problem of thyroid gland diseases, which consists in studying the mechanisms of action of thyroid hormones in the body, their biosynthesis and their metabolism, and developing new medicinal preparations. Biologically active compounds extracted from plants are of great importance in the treatment of various pathologies and in the creation of effective pharmacological preparations. In this article, the effect of hypothyroidism on antioxidant enzymes and the correcting effect of poliphenols isolated from sumac plants on this process will be highlighted.
