The article highlights the Jizzakh oasis, its unparalleled role in the history of our people, the ethnic composition of its population, and its location in relation to the political, social, and economic processes that took place at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. This analysis is based on scientific hypotheses, archival documents, data collected by Russian military ethnographers, and facts provided in the population census books. The collected sources and archival documents were analyzed, revealing discrepancies, estimated figures, and incomplete data on the population of the oasis. All the sources were examined, and scientific solutions and conclusions were provided.
