Systematic petrological, mineralogical, geochemical and chronological data on the Malguzar gabbro-dolerites of the West Tien Shan orogen are presented to study their petrogenesis, mantle source and tectonic setting. The samples contain a large amount of titanomagnetite (up to 4% by volume on average), and the main rock-forming minerals such as plagioclase, clinopyroxene and amphibole are enriched in iron and titanium, indicating an iron- and titanium-saturated magmatic system.
