This study examines the importance and potential of 3D digital maps in spatial research and development. Modern geographic information systems (GIS) and 3D modelling technologies are widely used in modern urban planning, natural resource management, and environmental analysis. 3D digital maps provide a more accurate visualization of the location, interactivity, and dynamic analysis capabilities than traditional cartographic methods. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the specific tasks of 3D digital maps in spatial research and development and to explore their practical application.
