THE ROLE OF LEGENDS IN THE GENRE SYSTEM OF UZBEK FOLK ORAL CREATIVITY
This article explores the role of legends in the genre system of Uzbek folk oral tradition. It analyzes the artistic and semantic features of legends, their interrelation with other genres, and their significance in shaping historical memory, religious beliefs, and cultural identity. The study focuses on the typology of legends, the combination of realistic and mythical elements, and their thematic content, including toponymic, religious, and social motifs.
