This article examines the impact of the environmental situation in cities on the health of the population. The main attention is paid to the key types of environmental pollutants - atmospheric air, water resources and soils, which are considered as the main environmental risk factors. Anthropogenic sources of pollution, including transport infrastructure, industrial enterprises, and household waste, have been identified and characterized.
