This article examines the issue of the human psyche in modern Turkish literature, which occupies a distinctive place in the formation of contemporary Eastern literature, using the short story genre as a focal point. The study analyzes, based on scholarly sources, the evolution and stylistic characteristics of the portrayal of human psychology in Turkish short story writing from the Tanzimat period to the literature of the 1950s
