On the basis of previously unpublished archival documents, the article reveals the history of the establishment of industrial cities in the Tashkent region during the Soviet era, the fact that natural resources and their processing and use were entirely at the disposal of the center and constantly transported. In particular, in the conditions of highly centralized economy and management system, the rich natural and economic resources of the republic were not at its disposal, Uzbekistan became a real raw material base, and the resulting problems were analyzed.
