This article presents the latest research results on the geochemical features of rare earth element (REE) mineralization in black shales of the Ustuk area, Northern Nuratau, and the development of prospecting criteria. The study involved more than 6,000 samples collected from drill cores and surface trenches during geological exploration works. Artificial intelligence techniques were applied to evaluate geochemical anomalous zones of REEs. As a result, geochemical prospecting criteria for REE mineralization in black shales were developed, exemplified by the Ustuk area.
