This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of temporal deixis and the linguistic representation of time in English and Uzbek from cognitive, semantic, and pragmatic perspectives. The study investigates the interplay among grammatical tense-aspect systems, lexical and adverbial time markers, and discourse-based deictic references. The findings indicate that English temporal relations are primarily encoded through a morphologically explicit tense–aspect framework, whereas Uzbek relies on contextual inference, adverbials, and pragmatic discourse cues.
