THE EXPRESSION OF THE GENDER CATEGORY IN THE GRAMATIKAL (MORPHOLOGIKAL) SYSTEM
The article analyzes the morphological expression of the gender category in English, Uzbek and Turkish. The study examines the degree of presence of gender-expressing means in the grammatical system, the manifestation of masculine and feminine signs in morphemic forms, and the role of gender-neutral units. While some words in English retain gender-specific morphological indicators (for example, actor - actress), such a distinction is not observed at the grammatical level in Uzbek and Turkish. The results of the comparative analysis show that the degree and characteristics of the expression of the gender category in the three languages are closely related to the structure of the language and social factors.
