The article highlights the determination of Fe(III) ions in cosmetic products - lipsticks - using the inversion voltammetric (IV) method with a chitosan-modified graphite-based electrode. The study investigated the possibility of directly detecting the trivalent form of iron (Fe³⁺) based on the electrochemical signal without a reduction step. It was demonstrated that chitosan modification significantly enhances the sensitivity and selectivity of the electrode, reduces background noise, and ensures high analytical accuracy toward heavy metal ions. The results showed that the iron content in lipstick samples considerably exceeded international standards, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the hygienic safety of such products. The proposed approach, due to its environmental friendliness, cost-effectiveness, and rapidity, offers an efficient tool for monitoring heavy metal ions in cosmetic products.
