This article examines the educational policy pursued by the colonial administration in Central Asia – particularly in Turkestan—after its conquest by the Russian Empire. It discusses how each newly appointed governor-general introduced changes to the educational sphere as part of establishing the colonial system, the measures taken to implement the Russo-native (Russian–indigenous) educational model, the specific political approaches adopted in this process, as well as the laws and administrative actions enacted in this regard.
