This article analyzes the political and military career of Hojib Tosh, a prominent Turkic military figure of the late Samanid period. The study examines his rise from a palace slave to a high-ranking commander, his administrative activities in Khurasan, and his relations with the Simjurids and Fa'iq based on primary historical sources. The article highlights Tosh’s role within the Samanid administrative-military system and evaluates his influence on the processes of political fragmentation and state decline in the late 10th century.
