DIPLOMATIC TERMS AND CULTURAL LOGIC: A COGNITIVE-PRAGMATIC COMPARISON

Diplomatic discourse, cognitive pragmatics, modality, philological heritage, Uzbek language.

Authors

This study analyzes how diplomatic meaning is encoded in English and Uzbek through cognitive-pragmatic structures and
philological heritage. Based on more than 60 terms, semantic transparency, modal expression, and lexical origin are compared,
revealing systemic differences in the management of obligation, authority, and ambiguity. The results show that Uzbek diplomatic
discourse relies on rigid and morphologically based expressions, while English operates through modal layering and interpretive
flexibility.
