REFERENCES TO AMIRZADA SULTAN HUSAYN IN THE SOURCES OF THE TIMURID PERIOD
This article examines the life and military-political activities of Amirzada Sultan Husayn Mirza, the grandson of Amir Timur,
based on the principal Timurid historical sources – Sharaf al-Din Ali Yazdi’s Zafarnama and Abd al-Razzaq Samarqandi’s
Matlaʿ al-saʿdayn wa majmaʿ al-bahrayn. The study analyzes Sultan Husayn’s role in the Timurid state, his participation in
military campaigns, his betrayal of Amir Timur, the restoration of royal favor, and his involvement in the political struggles
following Timur’s death. The article also explores the reasons for his execution and the tragic outcome of his political career
through a comparative analysis of historical sources.
