This article examines the semantic foundations of religious phraseological units in English, Russian, and Uzbek from a
comparative perspective. The study analyzes the sources of formation of religious phraseological units, their denotative and
connotative meanings, as well as their linguocultural characteristics. It is revealed that religious phraseological units in English
and Russian are mainly rooted in Christian traditions and biblical texts, whereas in Uzbek they are closely connected with Islamic
culture, the Qur’an, and folk religious consciousness. Special attention is paid to the semantic motivation, metaphorical nature,
and symbolic aspects of religious phraseology. The findings of the study are of theoretical and practical significance for
phraseology, linguoculturology, and translation studies.
