Soil contamination with heavy metals originating from municipal solid waste adversely affects soil biological activity. This study assessed the levels of molybdenum, tin, arsenic, copper, and bismuth contamination in soils surrounding municipal waste disposal sites and evaluated their effects on soil enzyme activity. Relationships between enzyme activity and heavy metal concentrations were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), regression analysis, and principal component analysis (PCA). The results confirm that heavy metals have a significant impact on soil enzymatic activity and highlight the importance of enzyme indicators for environmental monitoring and bioindication.
