Currently, more than fifty species of insect pests have been identified as major biotic stress factors affecting cereal crops worldwide. Among them, the sunn pest (Eurygaster integriceps Put.) is widely distributed in wheat agrocenoses and is regarded as one of the most economically destructive insects, causing substantial reductions in both grain yield and technological quality. This study elucidates the results of comprehensive investigations aimed at assessing the resistance of wheat varieties to sunn pest infestation. For this purpose, twenty wheat varieties officially zoned in the Republic of Uzbekistan and twenty-three varieties of Kazakh breeding origin were sown in a randomized experimental design with three replications. Each variety was cultivated on a 1 m² plot, isolated using a special mesh enclosure, and subjected to artificial infestation with sunn pest individuals. The quantitative characteristics of these varieties that ensure yield were analyzed.
