This article is devoted to the analysis of the annual and seasonal variations of the integrated amount of water (IWV) for the Maidanak astronomical observation site based on ERA5 reanalysis data. In the study, a height-adjustment method was applied, taking into account the seasonal variations of the scale height (H), which characterizes the vertical distribution of IWV. Using this methodology, the short-term seasonal variations of IWV values for 2016–2018, as well as the long-term dynamics for 2016–2025, were investigated and confirmed through graphical analysis. The obtained results allow for the assessment of the quality of astronomical observations at the Maidanak observatory and the identification of atmospheric limitations related to IWV. At the
same time, this approach can also be applied to other mountainous astronomical observatories, enhancing the efficiency of their observational activities.
