PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF PARENT-CHILD RELATIONS IN FAMILIES RAISING CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY (PRIMARY RESEARCH RESULTS)

Cerebral palsy, parental attitude, overprotection, emotional contact, family.

Authors

The article presents the primary results of a study of parent-child relations in families raising children with cerebral palsy. The
PARI technique (E.S. Schaefer, R.K. Bell; adaptation by T.V. Neshcheret), as well as the "Me and my child" projective technique,
were used as diagnostic tools. The data obtained indicate a combination of pronounced emotional involvement, partnership
orientation of interaction and tendencies towards hypercontrol. The psychological mechanisms of the formation of an ambivalent
parental position are discussed. The data obtained are interpreted to explain the compensatory mechanisms of parental behavior
under conditions of chronic stress. A conclusion is drawn about the specific structure of the parental position.
