A STUDY OF TURKISH STORIES AND FOLKLORE ELEMENTS IN THEM

This article analyzes the study of Turkish storytelling and its folklore elements in literary studies. The study examines the structural
features of the short story genre, the issue of national type and character, social realism, and the scientific interpretations of literary
scholars within the framework of intertextual and postmodern approaches. Also, from the point of view of literary theory, the
functional and semantic functions of folklore elements – proverbs and sayings, mythological and symbolic images, folk speech and
cultural codes – in the structure of written literature are highlighted. The purpose of the article is to scientifically demonstrate the
close connection between folklore and modern literature in Turkish stories, to determine the significance of this issue in the
methodology of research and literary studies. The results confirm that folklore elements are an important factor in ensuring national
identity, aesthetic expression, and cultural continuity in the short story genre.
